  1. And an hour or two to the centre..the Almighty Scafell pike!
  2. And as I reached that place I ft a wave of Energy go through me lime I'd never Known.....Total Elation!...and behind me, two strangers but linked because of our location.
  3. I ploughed on further and decided that I would make a place called "hollow stones" my destination at around 2, 000 feet.
  4. Everytime I looked around, the lake kept getting smaller and smaller....and ihadn't seen a single person. I was alone on the mountain...I climbed up and up the rounded stones...it got steep and the sun was bright but getting lower in the blue sky.
  5. I have only ever used My Smartphone for over a year now...never use a camera or computer. My device does everything.
  6. I was going to climb up Scafell...or at least get as high as I could before it got dark...I am carry too much weight these days and have been unwell since xmas so it might be tough...
  7. It was late..I had no equiptment,just a bottle of water and I had swapped my flip flops for my only other footwear..My trusty chainsaw boots!
  8. Thanks Jon, but it is so utterly Beautiful and dramatic here and because of the weather yesterday that I saw it at its most Amazing.

It was Hot..Sunny....and almost 6pm I noticed so I need to find out how to get to the foot of these mountains.At the very end of the road stood "Great Gable" and what seemed like the last building of the edge if this Island we live on...such large objects! Inside were old pictures of climbs.....
  10. Patience Mr Git:rolleyes: yes dried out. I'm too used to this work to put damp clothes on next day...washed and on the radiator now,bone dry by 6.00a.m:)Okay, are you ready for next installment,"The Mountain Fox?"...see here on the right Scafell and the one in the middle seeming smaller but actually the tallest...just futher away Is Scafell Pike....
  11. There in front of me, in the distance Stood the largest peaks in England...Things just got Epic!
  12. Was I really about to meet the tallest mountain in England?
  13. In the distance I could see the pre-historic backbone of cliff face that was leading me to my Destiny!
  14. My journey took me on a long and winding road......until....
  15. Ok....here we go! I had been asking people how to get to Scafell Pike and had many answers all basically saying that it wasn't actually possible to drive to it...you had to trek there...I only had half a day left and uhad to see it....until I met one man from the National trust who told me that if I went all the way around to Wastwater i would find what I was looking for. So....off I went.

I will make the Pilgrimage often Hodge my friend:) I have seen many beautiful places in the U.K. Dorset...Somerset...Yorkshire Dales...Wharfdale valley..Scotland (iona..mull arran etc)...But Borrowdale/Keswick and in particular Wast Water (Scafell Pike and Great Gable) touched my Soul in a way that no other place has...

That's what I thought Alex...anyway...enough of this materialistc nonsense...I have witnessed something far more mindblowing...its made of rock and rises above 3, 000 feet and it's my new favourite thing.just need to choose which pictures to post out of the 500 or so I took over the last few days.

Going to dry my soaking PPE then hit the shower..Me and Jon just ignored the constant heavy rain today and just got the toys out to make the job as efficientt as possible....Standard these days! nice cars to look at parked around the property...my two favourites...glad we didnt use Mr Git's 1965 Stihl today...Shower time tbhen it's time to continue yesterday's AWSOME Adventure!!!:cool:
  20. What an experience! Few hundered pictures to sort through....off to work now but tune in later for "in desperate climbs....my Airstreams save the day!"
  21. Hodge Mate...when I dropped down into the Honick pass It completely took my breath away!
  22. With everything going on in my world now....this has become the best day of my life!
