  1. No.....they are true survivors..i have a book called "The Sacred Yew" with a Gazetter of most of the most ancient of Yews.....check it out
  2. I dream about this tree! 4,500 years old.....the tree that has had the biggest impact on me.
  3. But Gog was a young tree in comparison to my favourite of all trees,The Llangernyw yew...when it was a sapling the Pyramids were a new build.

The lightshow is almost over and so it's back to the darkness of winter soon...for some reason i am preoccupied with my memories of meeting this ancient ok several years ago.....Gog is supposed to be at least 2,000 years old and unfortunately is now dead but his neighbour Magog is alive and well and to be found near Glastonbury.....what an ancient and venerable monolith
  5. It's a great looking mog and nice colour....maybe just a "Target" on the bonnet?

  7. Great film Metsaman....in particular the video of the Ponsse machine.and the iron horse👍
  8. Very eerie sight of the smoke pouring the trees onto the river replicating the legend of the mist the hid the Cathedral during a bombing raid during the second world war..
  9. This bulb cloud was very appropriate considering the three nights of heavy rain the event has experienced
  10. It Hoyed it down last night...but still didn't stop the hundereds of people from visiting the Lumiere.....amazing how light can alter the atmosphere....
  11. I'm with you on that one OMT😆 Joking aside it HAS actually been proven that man flu is indeed very real.
  12. Lots....i've only walked ten minutes from my house and there is a projection on my neighbours house showing how each home is different
  13. So it's down the hatch....and off to join hundereds of people.....Pictures to follow!

  15. I've been pounding the wet streets planning my route around the Lumiere light show......
  16. In the light of the grey day it looks very unimpresssive....but now in the dark it will come alive!
  17. A lot of thought has gone into this year's show.....
  18. This copper beech will look amazing lit up .....wait and see!
  19. I'm about to venture into the night and capture some pictures of the various installations around the City as part of the Durham Lumiere....the familiar smell of woodchip in front of the Cathedral where thousands of people have stood to watch the projections
