  1. wow that looks fun! i recently found one in a local wood, it was only a young one and it looked very out of place in the middle of a chestnut coppice. im gessing its fine useing spikes untill the bark gets too thin at the top? is it true that the bark clogs your chainsaw?
  2. hi guys, im looking for my first climbing helmet. iv heard a few bad comments about the petzl sliding around on your head and not sitting properly. what do u think of the edelrid helmet? would u recomend it? thanks pete
  3. i looked at a few random countrys and they still make a few of their older saws such as 61, 281XP pete
  4. iv used a 181 at work experience, awsome saw! my boss has got loads of old saws from when his dad used to own the business, hes also got a 2100, a stihl 064AV and loads of others. no chance of him lending them to me thow lol i did a few jobs with just a silky, a bow saw mite be better for bigger stuf but i dont fancy cutting many logs without a chainsaw. so ebay is best avoided, i gess its best to have a good look befor i buy? thanks for the help pete
  5. i am thinking of buying an old broken saw cheep as a bit of a project. it probably wont get a huge amount of use, maby a few private jobs, thats why i cant realy justifi getting a new saw and im a student so short of cash. i am thinking of something allong the lines of a husky 242 or 254, are parts easily avalable? also is this a good idea or a complete waste of time? lol thanks alot pete
  6. so which boots have the dodgy soles? or all of them?
