  1. yes it starts next wed but we go on saturday this saturday have done for 20 years to watch the setting up and get to meet people hundreds go early and camp music and the beer tents will be open pluse the jumble erea get to see it all before the mad rush treegeek whet are they showing ? i want to take my tractor but the waiting list is as long as your arm ,

  2. dont just drive down to the show and expect to get in have a look at there web site first there are a lot of veh restrictions and the safe secure camping is pre book only i book mine in jan to get a place . it is the biggest steam show in the world but it is more than just steam just look at there web site GDSF

  3. what peees me of is the townies that drive down my lanes in there new town cars and expect me in my land rover to pull up into the hedge and let them pass no that does not happen i just sit on the edge and the either squese past or revese up

  4. it could still be the bushes when at a standstill it is hard to find a fault , the best way i find to check bushes is place rig on level ground hand brack of go to the front corner say drivers side grab the bumber and push side to side good pushes and get it rocking you will hear any bush proplems , do it on every corner , and yes the steering uj is a good thing to check as geoff said, you can test by holding the steering colum in the engine bay and get someone to move the steering wheel

  5. if they have right of way to there land they are only ensuring the track is clear for there machinery , yes they could of phoned ahead , but the men on the ground would not have your number , and they could of sent you a bill to clear the track of overhang , best way is place a gate on the track where the key is held by yourself , then you will know all movments . just a idea ,

  6. Been doing paper work this morn when a bloke rings up saying he has a old rotten tree on fire, spark from his fire had set it alight could i help . Only around the corner , so stopped work and went to have a look see . And this is what i saw ,a 65/70 foot crack willow that had been dead for a few years ,he had cut a row of 20 foot lyandi down and had fire 4 feet from the stem on the hottest day of the year 03/08 the tree had started to burn in various places he had not tried to extuinguish them the high ones ok but the stump ! the tree cant be climbed nor can a lift get close . so they need to be winched over very carfully very. 2 men 1/2 day and a lot of skill i says £200

he laughs and says he is skint . 4 nice cars and a caravan in the drive . i walk away wishing him lots of luck.

  8. I got some fast growing willows from BOWHAYES 0140481229 to make a screen around the wood yard , they took about 2 years to settle in i pollard mine to stop the deer having a feast ,every year and they grow 10 / 15 feet every year a few acres and you would have ample to chip or plant as screens. I have a wood burner 11kw to heat my house and water i just use the waist wood from my yard that is past it's best to sell
