  1. Our cube bags are £40 ex-yard on the Island of Arran, for a minimum load of 25 bags. Add to that the cost of £20 per bag to get them across to the mainland, to Ardrossan Harbour (post code KA22 8HB). Our driver can deliver anywhere in the near vicinity, but would charge more for longer distances, anywhere inthe UK. It is not proving viable to send loads to England, but we are getting a lot of interest from firewood traders in the Scottish Central Belt, The Borders & Northern England. Alternatively, come to Arran for a nice weekend break and take a couple of bags home with you..............
  2. Hi Rob,

    Thanks for your reply.

We could have 25 bags on an artic in SW Scotland (M74) for around £60 per bag (full cubic meter vented bags). Additional cost from there to the Liverpool area, I'm not sure, would it be worth me finding out, or are we nowhere near the right ball-park cost for you?

  3. Would you be interested in purchasing firewood logs in bulk for resale to your local customers? Nice little turn-over without any of the hard work. And, most importantly, logs are available on demand. Check out my posting here: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=4177
  4. We have over 150 tonnes of naturally seasoned softwood (12-18 months) which we are frantically processing into firewood. Our local island market (Island of Arran) is serving us well, but they will never get through the amount we have available and we want to clear our sheds before next Spring. We are looking for a firewood retailer on the mainland who is interested in a trade purchase for resale, with a healthy mark-up. We can supply on demand, in 1m3 vented bags (not builders bags - proper full cubic meter bags). The firewood is about 15-20% MC in 8" split logs. Because of the ferry freight charges off the island, we can only economically supply loads of 25 bags (artic loads), however with the quality of our logs, you would not be long selling the lot and be back asking for more. Send me a PM (private message) if you would like more information. Arran Woodfuels
  5. £90 for a Transit tipper load (about 2m3) £48 for 1m3 ventilated bag This is 18 month naturally seasoned (renewable) softwood. Free delivery on the Island of Arran
  6. Check them out yourself here:
  7. I have heard of a chipper with a built-in screen that produces chips that can be directly used in pellet appliances. Screened chips, are recycled in the machine until the product is a fine, consistent small chip. With a supply of dry timber, one could produce fuel for pellet boilers and stoves without the trouble of grinding & pelletising. There are currently tests ongoing in Denmark (so I'm told). Does anyone have information on this machine/technology?
