Rookery, I'd happily recommend Writtle College, just west of Chelmsford.
Loved my 30/31 last year.

Having bought various stuff on Ebay....the words 'not with barge pole' spring to mind....not even a big, massive, humungous one!!!! Be especially careful if seller is in the Far East.
Ebay's not that complicated normally.

I use Tracklogs for my cycle routes....not GIS etc but great for printing out OS maps. It will interface GPS data if you want and you can also buy arial photos for it....maps & photos can be centered around any grid ref you want.
There's a free trial version also!!

Go for it RC, I think I asked the same question last year before getting into this game....and had much the same response.
I would recommend some rec climbing or just gym training before your 38/39 though....discovered I had very weak elbows/forearms by the second climb....ok now though!!
Bon chance!

I'm just over the bridge in Essex, have 30,31 & 38.....and not afraid of an early start!!
Have been doing some coppicing lately for gratis in my local woods, some big stuff though as it's been neglected in recent years.
Keen for some commercial experience, and registered self employed.
PM on it's way.

Go for it mate, I have and although not finding paid work at the moment, every minute I spend with the trees in the woods (coppicing for fun/free!) I thank my lucky stars.....no going back for me I hope.
Nothing more soul destroying than office work in my opinion!

Great news that he's ok, unbelievable luck.
Any more detail on the failure? Was it the line or a 'biner that gave way?
I only ask as I noticed the other day I had a loose nut on my flip line grab......after using it in the tree!
