  1. Hi, looking for an occasional climber or groundie to help out every now and again. Mostly domestic work around the Reading area. Thanks Daren . 07779118685
  2. Update to my story. After a lot of thought on what to say to the customer and trying to keep it professional, I just suggested that he should prioritise the tree over the hedges if it's a question of finance . I emphasised that ,in my opinion the tree is a potential hazard which he is responsible for. I also suggested he get another opinion from other tree surgeons or the local tree officer . My thoughts for suggesting he rings the tree officer is that he would be reporting himself to the authorities. He replied with he always was going to get the tree done but at a later date when the leaves have gone! What difference the leaves being on or off makes towards the safety of the tree I don't know. The upshot is his now having the tree and the hedges done . Thanks for all the great advice. Daren
  3. I have a similar problem at the moment.,apologies for jumping on your thread. I went to quote for some hedge work. As I approached the house I could see a large Robinia stem leaning on a fence, the fence had fresh splits running down the length of it that made me think the tree was on the move. I went and had a look at the base and it was completely rotten. There is just a small piece of solid wood holding it up . The tree is an old coppice and the stem is leaning over a busy road. I showed the customer and he asked for a quote to get the stem down and leave the rest of the tree . I've sent him a quote to fell the stem and another to trim the hedges, they are both the same price . He has just emailed back to say he will leave the tree for now and just have his hedges trimmed! I'm pretty sure this tree will fail sooner rather than later. If it was just going to fall in his garden I wouldn't be so bothered but the fact it's going to go over a busy road leaves me wondering what action I should take? What's my responsibility? Thanks.

  6. Hi, I can provide a Transit tipper, forst stp6 chipper, bandit sg40 stump grinder or predator 360 grinder. Can supply a whole team as well, climbers and groundsmen or just one person with any of the above kit. I've been subbing to small firms on bigger jobs and also to people just starting out who need an instant tree company. All my kit is has no sign writing so we blend in. Happy to take away logs and chip. Various different prices depending on what kit is required.
  7. I've just had this on my stp6. Forst changed the fuel pump and its all good now. I think it happened because it run out of fuel while chipping and sucked some dirt through. Or could just be coincidence.
