  1. Mmm the tree does has sever lean. More so than the pics show. Maybe this will come under dangerous on application. It really is a 50/50 with permission and depends on tree officer we deal with. thanks again
  2. Cheers stubby. I am trying to find out if the roots will casue probs with foundation. E.g if Sequoia roots are know to cause probs with foundations. The client does not want to spend a fortune getting a survey done when a general inspection of tree and bit of free advice will help them make decision.
  3. I only asked for information regarding The roots of the tree. ..but thanks for the advice given. With your good knowlegde can you tell me if the trees roots are likely to cause probs with foundations?
  4. Yes they want the tree removed as few limbs fell off, they have kids etc. They have had the tree officer out but he is not wanting them to remove it. I am trying to build up a case for removing this tree for them and only thing i can think of is roots damaging foundations.
  5. I need advice regarding root system of Sequoia tree. This tree is Approx 70ft tall and 6ft Diameter at base. It is approx 18ft away from clients property and has caused severe damage to garden wall / pathway etc. The tree is very nice looking but the client is worried about damage to foundations. The Tree does Have a TPO on it. It does not have any decay visiable from ground level but does have Lean towards clients property. The tree has layed down compression wood on side where there is a lean. No sign of shearing. Please see pics of base and distance from Property. What you can't see in pics is damage caused to wall behind green bin.
  6. Nice Vid. Enjoyed watching that.
  7. I gave the bar a good clean - changed bars also. It is new oil filter inside the oil tank - not the same as ms200t - which makes me think it is filter problem as some oil does come out but not a lot. Will try different ype of oil and flush out tank. cheer for tips.
  8. My bad - it is 201t - not ms200t. Not winger pal. just got a right to complain about spending big £££'s on saws and they don't work. Not easy making from tree work so when i do spend bucks on equipment i expect at least to get a year or so out of it. You must be a stilh dealer eh? Stepped on your toes a bit by not liking stihls.
  9. Oregon. But all other saws are oiling fine.
  10. So i buy a ms200t and it was just a bad saw. My groundy buys a 150t and it was also just a bad saw... Whats the chances? I say new stilhs are not good at all. The Ms ranges were the last of the best.
  11. Since i bought the Ms200t I have had nothing but problems with it. Its oiling does not work and Chainsaw mechanics can't fix it. One of my workers also bought the New light weight stilhl MS150 and has the exact same probs. Bit of a pattern here! Seems like stihl have chosen to make saws cheaper rather than better this time round. I will now be buying saws from the dark side ( Husqvarna ) from now on as i have lot faith in quality of stilhl equipment. Anyone else have problems with new range of Stihls?
  12. Lol. Funny guys. Clueless also. The wood has been sold already for £40 a load and they are taking the lot.
  13. Taking a big beech tree down next week. Good quality timber for firewood. All timber will be disced into manageable chunks and stacked on a driveway. Open to offers - take as much or little as you like. Estimated 12 Loads + on Large tipper. Will sell for £40 per load. Martyn 07872147453

  15. Got a big beech to come down and bt line is right below rigging point. Big tree and touch enough without having to avoid the phone wire. Costumer called Bt and they said £199 to come survey the line and possibly another £300 to come take it down. Seems steep. What do they charge if they are broken? anyone on here dealt with BT and what are the costs? costumers feels a bit ripped off. thanks
  16. Pleased that there has been good responses from this thread...means that the word is getting around about working with woodchips safely. One thing i think that everyone should be aware of is becoming hypersensitive. If you are exposed to woochips for over a period of time and are getting reactions like sore bones etc from it then you might have became hypersensitive to this. ( Meaning any amount of dust from woodchips will set of an reaction ). Your body will get inflammation much easier as it will set of a defense against the dust far more often. This is something that we should be worried about as becoming hypersensitive to dust means that you may need to give up working where there is a dusty enviroment. After speaking to doctor, reading online about this..i truly believe that dust masks should be worn for working with trees. I will keep this post updated on how i feel..e.g if i feel more pain chances are i have become hypersensitive to wooddust.
  17. yeah thats exactly it. trying to sue my own company.
  18. cool Vid Tim. liking the Leftism.
  19. Sub-Acute Farmer's Lung Sub-acute Farmer's Lung is more common than acute Farmer's Lung but it is less intense and more difficult to notice. It develops slowly, responding to continual exposure to small amounts of moldy dust. The signs and symptoms include: coughing, shortness of breath, a mild fever and occasional chills, a general feeling of sickness, aches and pains in the muscles and joints, and a loss of appetite and loss of weight. People who are sensitive to dust from moldy crops continue to exhibit these signs and symptoms as long as they are exposed to the dust. This condition sometimes resembles a "chest cold" that lingers throughout the winter. Some people lose weight over several weeks. Yeah these symptoms are exactly what i have. going to take a week ot 2 off work and it should all be fine.
  20. Thanks, Yeah it was old woodchip yesterday..but on previous times it was only 1 day old.
  21. Mick. I come on here to report an incident so i can warn others. I have not came on here to have key board kung fu with yourself. ODTS can lead to severe lung and heart problems and i made a silly mistake of not wearing proper PPE. I hope to warn other not to make the same mistake. Cool?
