  1. The tree is currently in Brundal. Money wise im not sure ive heard some varying figures but really its only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. Ive got some turning clubs coming back to me but ideally having someone take the lot in one go would be useful.
  2. Yeah heard that about the sap. Apparently turners like the top 3rd of the stem. Ive been told to cut it into logs and treat the ends with watered pva to slow the drying process.
  3. Ive got a monkey puzzle stem for sale in Norfolk. Its 50 foot by 80 cm diameter for the best part. Its blown over in Doris so we have been asked to clear it. If you know anyone who might like the timber please let me know.
  4. Hi Ive a 50 foot 80 cm wide monkey puzzle stem to sell. Its fresh and uncut so im seeing if there is anyone out there that wants to buy it or knows any turners who may want it.
  5. Plenty of rigging in 2 Mark, just not in use. Poor Mr Curtis had to move it around every few pieces. Job took 4 days and must have been over 20 tonnes removed easily.
  6. Climber in the bottom 3 is Mr Curtis and last photo taken by Steve Townsend all on the same Beech dismantle.
  7. All done. Back in London now. It has been an epic ride and a fantastic challenge. Thankyou for anyone who has donated, we are nearly at our £5000 target.
  8. Nearly there. 4 More days of riding to get to Rome. It's a great feeling to have reached the Mediterranean Sea. If you are able to donate please see the link on the first page.
  9. So today we conquered st Bernard 's pass. It's the 3rd highest mountain pass in the alps. It was also raining pretty hard temperatures were near freezing.
  10. Today has been the hardestday so far. We climbed to 1600 and physically we are rather broken, spirits remain high and we are at our halfway mark. Any sponsors to the cause are really appreciated.
  11. We have made it to Lake Geneva in Switzerland. The ride has been epic and today we saw a giant wild boar leaving the forests of France. Tomorrow we start to tackle the Alps. Thankyou for everyone that has donated to the charity.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
