    It is a recommendation from survey, so basically you are saying to charge a day rate plus expenses I.e cable system. I'm ok with that, I just don't want to undercut or overcut myself

    Hi Guys, looking to see what is the general rate for cable bracing, I have 2 insignus pines to brace, no splits, probably a 4t system but may go 8t. I am contracting in a climber to do it, it's my first time doing it so not sure what to charge. Direction re pricing would be greatly appreciated

    If there was a market for sawn cedar and prices were good then i would look at sending over by artic. There is good demand here but obviously the scale would be much bigger in Uk. It always sells but it can sit in yard for awhile at times, and for that reason if there was a ready made market for it then i would be much happier to see it move on the button

    Hi Guys, just putting it out there, will possibly be selling a 2003 3phase 8m static Serra Bavaria in the second quarter of new year. Pm if interested. Mill will be working until the day it leaves so in good working order. Cheers

    Yes it's a benmac 3.08. I understand wheel excavators won't be as stable as tracked but this is lifting machine when jib is extended out empty

    Hi guys, i have purchased an 8ton wheeled excavator for our sawmill with the view of fitting a timber grab for sorting logs. She's a 1992 machine but in very good nick. She came from holland. My issue is She's extremely unstable from the side even with an empty bucket with blade down, surely I'm missing something. I did notice on the opposite side to blade, there seems to be levelling rams above wheels but i can't figure is there a switch ar lever in machine to operate these rams as I've tried everything

    Yard is on two levels, bottom yard is flat, there is a slight hill up to next yard where we store logs, no tarmac or concrete in any of our yard. We mostly cut douglas fir and larch in 16ft, some big some small no animals

    It's funny over the years we had so many guys that would have done that job with their eyes closed and a smile on their face, but nowadays those guys don't really exist. Its a case of very high end jobs and more specifically no workforce to fall in, hence most guys have given up and moved on to other things.

    Hi, we run a sawmill in southern ireland, we are looking at knocking a standalone leanto shed and building an A Frame douglas fir shed for planing timber and storing sawn timber. Basically we are looking for someone who may be interested in doing this project as we are not building savvy. The size of shed is roughly 60ft by 20ft. We don't have a specific design in mind per say but would like it to be rustic. I guess basically we're looking for a guy to come for a few weeks and we will provide lodgings and pay weekly or whatever suits payment wise. Please pm if interested

    1995 Man le 10.180 4x4 truck with palfinger crane. Immaculate truck with only 41k kilometres, a very reluctant and genuine sale. The ultimate machine for forestry/tree surgery work. Hard to find with crane. Air seat, very comfortable to ride with plenty power from her 180hp engine. Based in Southern Ireland but truck has come from UK so all relevant paperwork coming with her. Passed irish MOT with flying colours which I think can be used in UK for first 6 months.     Sorry, its for a bandmill, basically for cutting inch to 2 inch boards, anything from 6in to 24in in width. Want to speed up the process of having to edge my boards on bandsaw, and looking to get an edger to deal with this
