  1. No, I am not anti English, I love the English I have spent many years working in England from Devon to Northumberland and enjoyed it very much. My issue is with the British Establishment, Royals, Westminster, House of Lords, BBC, Sky, The Daily Telegraph, News of the World etc. These bastions of British Corporate and cultural folly are a festering boil on the face of the British Isles. I believe England would be a better country after we(Scotland) vote to break up the United Kingdom.
  2. I look forward to the day when the Scotland votes to break up the United Kingdom and be an independant nation again. Losing the Royal baggage will be very satisfying. It'll also mean our troops wont be sent to the the frontline of 'British' conflicts as has been the case in almost every war since the Act of Union.
  3. The problem is Prince Harry has unwittingly become a figured head for a new British Imperialism, the Islamic world both fundamentalist and moderate will see the British Royal Family sending one of their sons to fight against Islam, just as the Royal families did during the crusades. The Imams and Mullahs will use it as ammunition in their drive to find new recruits. The significance of the symbolism is already making an impact in the Islamic world. Its a backwards step. Gullible people like you are taken in by the foreign bashing BBC with all their bluster and gusto of how Harry is a British hero and his term in Afghanistan was brought to an end by 'foreign' websites. I would fight for my country in any capacity, Scotland that is, not Britain.
  4. Prince Harry is a rich kid with lazy money. I detest his kind. Lets just leave it at that.
  5. I feel Prince William put his men at risk by going to Afghanistan, he knows he's a big target for the taleban, but he put his own selfish interests before his men. I dislike selfish people and he is one of them.
  6. Its a good idea to place your right hand on your left shoulder if you must cross your arms like that.
  7. If only it were that simple my friend, Afghanistan was a westernised democracy before the Soviet invasion, people has a good quality of life, they were free to do what they wanted, there was poppy production on a small scale. Now there are more poppy fields at any time in history in Afghanistan, and most of the heroin produced from these poppys makes its way to poor council schemes in the UK and Europe. I dont think I need to explain the problems associated with drugs so I'll leave it there, you can make up your own mind on wether allowing 'farmers' in Afghanistan to produce one of the drugs that is destroying Britain's culture is a good thing. Raze the fields again and again, that'll stop them. As for Prince Harry not being treated any different to any other soldier, he's in the officer class, they've always been treated differently. They dont work their way up through the ranks they skip all that and march like tw*ts at Sandhurst posing as mummy and daddy look on with their ruddy posh faces. As for the UK media, I hate them.
  8. Thanks, I understand now, didn't realise there was an issue with cycles.
  9. Very difficult work made to look easy. Congratualtions to you and your team. I dont follow why didn't you just lower the stems from the tree? Can you explain?
  10. I have an Arboreater, its rubbish in almost every way possible, in fact it's rubbish in ways other chippers can only dream of. It's so rubbish I want to soak it in petrol set fire to it and run it off a large cliff onto giant boulders 200ft below and watch it explode into a million pieces. Dont buy one.
  11. I thought Britain and NATO's role in Afghanistan was as a peacekeeping force? Prince Harry just wanted to go out there to kill people to prove he was a man. The British media have covered this event like its Prince Harry's duty to go and fight and kill foreign people like its all a big personal adventure for him and we should give our unconditional support. I think there is a lot more to this story than meets the eye, why havent US and British/NATO with their superior airpower destroyed all the poppy fields and heroin factories in Afghanistan? The whole thing stinks to high heaven. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/7269743.stm
  12. Been doing some research, Iron Oxide Primer is whats used for bare metal.
  13. I'm not going to talk about Landys anymore as I can sense there are members of the British Landrover Appreciation socitey here.
  14. On the battlefield I'd rather be in a armor plated Humvee than a Snatch Landy. Although a Chieftan would be better. Humvee beats Landy in every department. Unless you like breaking down all the time then the Landy wins.
  15. The Hummer is a better army vehicle than the 50s spec Landy Rapiers and Defenders.
  16. Cant understand why the British Army doesn't use those mogs and MAN Kats instead of their 1950s lorries and diabolical Landrovers. The UK army should have HUMVEES anyway not Landies.
  17. 26! Your having a laugh right? old at 26, thats a good one.
  18. It happens to the best of us, I've started doing the bending down groan, treework causes premature aging of the spine I think.
  19. That was it, the alloy thing, paint just flakes off alloy like you see on resprayed Landrover defenders, so there is a special primer that goes on before. I will visit a spray shop with my hilux. Those Ifor tops look bad after a couple of years, even with cleaning, a good paint job would make them easier to keep clean.
  20. Garry, copy this guy and you'll be fine. [ame= ] [/ame]
  21. Sorry Anna I thought you put that pic up 2day. On with the thread, which is pretty funny by the way.
  22. I googled aei and this came up, no trees. http://www.aei.org/
