  1. hi there is that two Locked Brummel. how did you get one over the other ?
  2. Hi there. I have the SJ1 and I was. Wondering what the replaceable pin does. I am soon to replace my one. As I run on 11mm rope and it has warn the body out around the base of the device. It seems a shame that such an expensive device where so easily. I've a full-time tree surgeon and I have only had the SJ for a year. I do love the device works properly.
  3. Did get to see much of the show as I was serving coffee all day. But still had a good time of it. I have see the wood fair grow bigger ever Year for about the last 10 years as I uses't to work there in the Forestry dep. Still a grate show will be back there next year I hope.
  4. Did you get any picture of my geodome tent. We where the coffee dome. Was a most Excellent event
  5. hi guys here's a few pic's for the set up i have played with
  6. I used one for a bit. But stopped using it as the clutch started to slip' and I haven't got round to getting a new one. Good bit of kit. But take it slow if your new to it. Here's a link to the "art spiderjack manual". http://www.climb-art.com/english/download/spiderjack/BED_SP2_A5_web.pdf hope that helps..
  7. just looked at the pictures Si, very nice. good job to be on shame i didn't get on the hobs much but the lads did a fine job of not shaking me out of the tree so i guest i cant complain.
  8. i think thats the plan. but its up to him at the end of the day. I'm not one for messing people about. If he can cope with me dropping another day then thats grate. quite a scary prospect going freelance but i think i would kick myself if i didn't give it a go..
  9. Thanks all for the comments I think it may have gone off subject a little. But that’s a forum for you. I currently work 4 days a week. So going to try and fill my 5-days & weekend with freelance work if possible. Then go from there. It would seem that the work at the min is a bit up and down. So best too play it safe.
  10. Cheers chap. Don't have the best contacts as I have moved from my home over your way "suffolk". A guest a bit of phoning round and cv emailing is the next step.
  11. Hi all. Am looking into working for myself as a freelance climber and could do with some advice. I have been climbing for about 13 years, and not to blow my own trumpet, but feel that I am good at my job. The money as we know is not the best at the moment working on the books. So I thought I would try going freelance. Q1 is there anything else I need? Like insurance or other? Q2. Is it as simple as just phoning round and getting work that way? Making a name for your self? Q3. I have looked at some of the threads and it would seem £110 to £120 is the going rate. And as I have my own climbing kit, would this price be about right. My tickets include CS 30,31,,32,33,37,38,39,40,41. Plus ND Arb and a ND in Conservation. I am Coventry west midland based. Thanks for any advice it is much appreciated.
  12. ih mate hows things?

  13. have you done with my spiderjack yet or is your brother still trying to kill him self with it

  14. thank guys think around the 20m mark will do fine.
  15. just a quick one. what length rope do you all use for your short rope. i have a nice long rope but am a bit reluctant to chop a bit off the end. was thinking about getting a 20m bit. nothing worse than reeling 45m through the tree.
