  1. i get charged £30 per kit...And my guys have massive kits.....must be a good deal..!!
  2. Nice one Tony, will give that a look...I've had the guys out from watton before on a couple of jobs, didn't even give it a thought to ask them...!!
  3. Hi Steve, still looking good for next Tues?

  4. I was under the impression that there are no short courses (1-2 days) that cover the basics of chapter 8 (temporary works), only 2-3 week courses that covers the whole thing for duel carrideways etc, but reading a recent thread it seems that some of you guys have done a course along these lines. Any info would be much appreciated...
  5. again......Round up Pro Bi-active...never fails for us
  6. Was supposed to be having a three week break but work is busy so it's ended up being about 10 days....Got a busy Jan ahead too so going to relax and chill before it all starts again on the 5th Jan...
  7. Thats funny I just got me some winning tickets too...!!
  8. Loved it....In fact I think i might decorate that house again....just for fun...
  9. pulling my pruning saw out of the sawpod by accident and nearly catching my climbing line. Done it about 10 times this week in some dense limes, i'm gonna catch the rope sooner or later...!!
  10. Struggling to remember now, but i know it was a link from another tree related site...
  11. We have at least a couple of hundred chestnuts and although i cant remember when i looked at a chestnut without either leaf minor/canker etc we only have a couple in line for removal in the next few months and they are due to internal decay. Too many are being felled because they look bad with brown leaves and brown exudate seeping from them, not because they are structurally unsafe within their environment.
  12. When it's really hot we like to get out as soon as possible, get stuck in early so you can afford to slow down when it starts warming up. If we suspect it's going to be a scorcher the next day i contact the client/tenant etc and ask politely what is the earliest we can start, explain why you are asking and most seem happy to let you start a little earlier than they expected. On site by 7 and start making noise about 7:30, no complaints so far...
  13. Robinia for ripping my arms to shreds in the summer and Ash for climbing.
  14. I was also thinking about the online foundation degree at Myerscough, it seems like a good course from the web-site (but then they would give you that impression..!) my only concern was that i would be biting of a little more than i could chew jumping from a level 2 to a degree. Although having said that i feel confident regarding the RFS cert. and am ok with the amount of time and effort that would be required. I'm thinking about the future and moving on from supervising and managing small teams to consulting so if i take the tech cert route i'd have to move on again. Although i'm ok with studying i don't really relish the thought of having the next 10 years or so mapped out with one qualification after another. i wouldn't mind some feedback from anyone doing/done the on-line foundation from Myerscough, syllabus/workload etc...
  15. Once i've finished the RFS Cert Arb. (not long now) what do you think would be a good way to go? It has to be online/home study due to work. I'd like to do a foundation degree and bypass technicians Cert really but would this be too much...
