    been doing a few reasonable sized trees recently and every one has looked fine but when the butt has been felled there is nastys beneath, the crack on the lime went all the way up the big wood, when i choged the first bit down it was clearly visable 40ft up!!!!! would that tree be easily safe enough to climb with no worries? i think it would but im looking for opinions.....

  5. they have 10 guys employed and use a hell of alot of subbies forthe crappy jobs!!!! im a subbie for them now thru another company (paul ford tree surgery - nr melton mowbray) lucky i know the boss very well and he dont treat me too badly so all is cool

  7. i couldnt agree more matey, ive been thinking about how i climb recently and know i have to buck up my ideas, getting complaicent isnt the way to go!! the guy who i used to work with did his hand and leg!!!!!!! dont wanna be like that!!!!

  10. yeah all the strops and ropes meet 6 monthly just b4 the loler test and have a big fight and cut each other up:thrasher: on a serious side it took me a while to get confident in my gear, im now more confident with the gear than i am wth the dam trees!!!!! done 2 trees today and both had ****** centers but looked perfect on the out side!!!!!!

    lol shes seen what im posting and now wants me to take a photo of here with my kit on, hopefully shell go for the not pants and a harness picture fingers crossed:) doubt it tho:002: we should have a posters wives section lol
  18. it has a pin but is spring loaded with quite a strong spring and the pin sits in quite far, ive never had a problem with it and a guy who i used to work with has had a similar set up for over10 years and never had a problem, i would agree that a fixed grab would be better.....

  24. can any body guess whats done it? worst decayed still standing tree ive seen in ages!!! after math from the huricanes!!!
