My Stihl pole saw fits nicely in my Brownchurch Rack, thats on a SWB.

Well said that man!

If it is not I would swear by lowa high leg GTX combat boots.
Supremely comfortable straight from the box, very good ankle support and totally Gortex waterproof.
However on my 4th pair in 3 years.
But should have 9 months ahead of me.
First pair were worn out in 6 months (the soles)
I then invested in 3 more pairs bought at intervals and worn alternately
Bad news about £160.00 per pair.
I was thinking about a pair of them or similar Altberg make for non chainsaw work. Is it just the sole that wears or does the boot fall apart? Can't you just resole them?

"Common sense"- that would make a good ticket.

It becomes more interesting when more than one person sees something odd, like at the wedding mentioned earlier.
TimeberCutterDartmoor please tell us about the "evil spirits".

Check the pipe within the tank, to the pick up filter isn't kinked. Had this problem last week on FS480.

Squash it flat and put in plastic recyling skip at Recycling depot.

It's not that the gardener was in the wrong, it's the fine that was disproportional to the offence.

Thanks for that Treediver

Following on from the thread about valves in Stihl 4 mix engines I looked in the manual for my KM90 and it says to take it to a Sthil dealer after the first 139hours for adjustment or checking. Is it possible to do it yourself?

I think it's common hogweed, it's best cut in advance of strimming with a sickle, removed or left to wilt. One cut at the base knocks it back. I often wear an old army "headover" for neck protection.

Nice case.

Shredder or tri-blade on a brushcutter is best bet. Hit it earlier while its still small. Then 2 or 3 times for a couple of years, then occasionally after that, should see the worst of it gone!

The tank is probably just blocked. Try taking it out and cleaning it through.

Try South West Highways in Exeter. I did a course with them some years back.

TD5 here on Mud Terrains and get about 22-24 mpg. 200 TDI is the most economical but less power.

What about using a short pole saw with a harness to take the weight?

Some good news at last, but if the police had located the quad in their camp would they have gone in?

Thanks guys

Does anyone know whether you can claim against tax for Training courses if you are self employed?

Thanks to Steve and ISC, my pulley that I won arrived yesterday!

I use a soldering iron to engrave post code, name and date.
If you sprayed the whole saw pink, would that deter somebody from nicking it?
Whats the weather like near you?

Wet here on Dartmoor, as usual, so have just done my Self Ass for another year! Yippee that was fun.
