i think there is a distinction to be made for clarity, what we are talking about is a secondary back-up bridge as opposed to a actual second (approved) bridge.
-
That's very interesting.
Do you have any links please?
Thanks.
just a 30 second search

Maybe this thread would have run in a different direction if it had been about a second bridge for work positioning/climbing, rather than as a safeguard against failure by cutting.

Looks good Craig. Any other pics?
On the double bridge issue, the New Tribe Onyx has the ability to easily add in another bridge and their Nikosi harness has a built in twin bridge.
thanks
the onyx uses a small rigging plate for attachment, so if you put a second bridge in, there is no other lower d attachment point
never tried the nikosi but its looks a bit 'different' in concept

Taking time to get a good work position is what's needed not a second bridge!
If your worried about your bridge are you not worried about cutting your climbing line... i personally have not heard of many people cutting there bridge.
Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
Two bridge attachment points opens up better work position options than just a lanyard alone.
there have been a few well documented bridge failures, mostly where the original bridge has been replaced with incorrect matterial

the new new hass has a new larger bigger purpose made clip at the top, that will clip onto the bridge d on a tree motion

Been running scion orange with my wrench, not much bounce or sheath movement and good value what's not to like

Tie a alpine butterfly knot about a meter or so back from eye , either take a rap round the tree,or not, clip together, keep binner aligned and avoids cross loading

I have a airspace you can hire if you don't find anyone

Quite good if you do maintenance pruning on palm trees. I looked into using them for using on some larch trees with no safe TIPs -but they don't make them big enough.

drill holes first then slice

Really? I remember it being 11mm when I did mine. Was a fair while ago mind.
Me thinks it's time for an update
-
Don't think the 3mm difference is a rule because if you were using 10mm it would suggest that you use 7mm which is too small in most cases unless specified by a manufacturer
-
For any chain saw trouser to pass the CE test they have to have a height 'rise' in the front (a gents cut) so they will never be a great fit and none of the manufacturers will pay for a new standard to be made for small market

no one does ETW in the UK, not many european countries recognise nptc, but you can take etw in english at some exam centers.
