I have just bought a husqvarna 350 off of ebay it hada 15" bar. I bought this saw for a good price and it does not apear to have done to much work and does not smoke much is clean and runs up nice. However the nose sprocket left the bar and the chain ant all that either so I need a new bar and chain and begs the question which one? I have found so many different choices 15" to 20" bar, full or semi chisel chain wide kerf narrow kerf 3/8 or 3/4 pitch, bar gauge and Iam sure there is more choices than that. I use the saw for felling, firewood, sneding, clearing brush, copiceing and evern cutting up old pallets and old building timbers for firewood so a broad usage. I am not that knowledgable about chains and bars so any info would be welcome cheers.

I have the very similar 353 and that runs a 15" bar .325pitch 1.5mm gauge and for what your doing I'd think semi chisel would be better as it a little more forgiving than full chisel should you hit a nail or the like when sawing pallets. If your replacing bar and chain I'd also check/replace the drive sprocket as if the original bar and chian were worn chances are that will be too. Hope this helps

Well semi chisel sounds the best choice 0.58" 3/4. Still havent made my mind up on bar length 15" or 18" , 15" runs better and better for cutting timber 18" is easyer for brush cause longer reach clearing and large trees which I rarely do. Maybe two saws isa good answer lol.

15" bar, 0.325 pitch....Gauge 1.3mm........... narrow kerf will make the saw fly, the Oregon Microlite Pro system with 95VPX chain will be impressive - it is semi chisel and cuts some 15% faster than others due to its narow kerf needing less engine power.

You can fit a longer bar but it will sap more power from the saw!

Rob D on here will give you a good deal and advice for that matter!

Whats the difference between 0.325", 3/8" and .404" I understand .325 smoother but takes more power out the saw and .404 is rougher but less power out the saw?.....

It is the pitch or measurement between links - forget the other two, your saw is designed to take 0.325" and will perform faster and more smoothly than any other pitch.
