Vert feed chippers

Hey chaps,

Whats the low down on these chuck n duck jobs?

I've got some target pruning to do at my uncles, so only small diameter stuff. There is no access for any of the big chippers, so thought about hiring one of the little TW ones from orange, only like £40/50 a day.

Or would I better giving the £40 to a being to drag over the garage roof?.

Are they really that useless?:confused1:

Don't know about TW ones but the JoBeaus and Greenmechs are useful bits of kit for the situation you describe. Main thing is that you can't just shove huge bundles in like you can with a bigger chipper, little and often is the way to go. Once you get used to them, you will find they are great for little back garden jobs. Finally, when you finish a section of chipping, let it run for a minute to make sure it is clear as if there is anything left in it, it can make starting difficult to impossible. :001_smile:
