This weekend carved and finished 2 dragons, one a free one to somebody who has a garden next to the board walk in Stonehaven, good advertising (with a small sign below it) and one as a private commission plus roughing out a nice big squirrel for a local hospital garden. Today I got paid for the Dragon (nice) and started to finish the squirrel and my backup (and very much on its last-legs) carving bar died  money in....money out. annoying as i was going to wait for the Sugi bars to come in later in October and get soem of those rather than overprices Stihl bars

definitely one of those days

never mind, went pigeon shooting later and got a decent bag... pigeon and rabbit pie i think

Oregon sculptor are good value Dave. They'd be a stop gap til you get a sugi, they do need a few more links than cannon though.

I really fancy trying a sugi but like you said money comes in and before you know what's occurring it's gone! I've definitely missed the boat on Robs pre-orders:thumbdown:

Pigeon pie sounds interesting, I dined on tandoori pizza:001_tongue:

had to go for another stihl bat.... i think they are overpriced (by stihl, not Rob) but i have about 4 chains that fit them which i dont want to waste. I have pre-ordered a sugi bar which will be interesting to try out when they come in to stock. just have to hope the bar i ordered on monday evening arrives in time for saturdays carving or im gona dissapoint a client...not good for the reputation that :(

pigeons are de-meated and the meat in the freezer... once i get a free moment i will make the pie.
