just bought a dolmar ps52 today( 350 all in) it came with a 18 inch bar and one of those metal carry cases. girlfriend cut a load of firewood today and thought it was a great saw. normaly she uses a 346xp and apart from being a bit heavier and not as " cute " looking she rates it very highly. only thing against so far is the chain break is not very ergonimically designed

I got one of these off Ebay a while back, exactly the same (but a lot cheaper:001_smile:), metal case, problem I found with it you had to be careful where you stored it as it leaked chain oil all over the damn place.

They must have had a few complaints about this but "rectified" it in their eyes by including a slip of paper in the manual with a warning that a "small" amount of oil would leak after use and this was quite normal.................rubbish in my opinion!!.

noticed that myself after a good days logging! thought it was just a heat thing but it would seem i am wrong. metal box is now new tool box and the last few small jobs have paid for it, so if it blows up soon i will be getting replaced with an 026. the girlfriend still loves it and i have to admit that i am still reaching for it more than my 441!!! you do have to admit it has a sort of ugly charm and loads of grunt for a small saw

Couldn't resist buying an old Sachs Dolmar 112 that I saw at the local recycling centre for £5.00.

It turns over ok and has plenty of compression, it has a spark and I have replaced the fuel line and reconnected the filter that was rattling about in the bottom of the fuel tank.

Put in some fresh fuel but it won't start. The pull cord and recoil spring are ok but sometimes when I pull the cord it's as though the ignition is too far advanced as it won't go over tdc.

I can't find a service manual on the Internet, so if anyone has one that they can scan in and send me, it would be a big help in getting the saw going.

Better still if someone has one that they can sell me that would help me out too.

Thanks,

Ron
