CIS Registration

If you're registered as a contractor, you're supposed to do monthly returns, even for sub-contractors who've not worked for that month. I.e. Nil payment/deductions

The reason for this is so they can track sub-contractors and see they pay the appropriate amount of tax. I know the challenges of paying folk in cash and the tax issues if you get caught.

My question would be, 'Do blowjobs count as benefit in kind, as I can't seem to locate it on the P11 form?'

Just a quick one.

Does my arb company come under CIS or are we exempt?

Just about to bill a groundworks company and they seem to think we should have a CIS number.

I've got no issue with getting one, but I don't particularly want to if I don't have to.

It's a total ball ache Mark. I done three jobs for two different developers at the same site. The first developer sent invoice paid straight away, the last developer demands CIS registered and takes 20% tax or no CIS and they take 30%.

They may invite us back to do a week before the site opens. I may invite them to site on billiard and swivel :blushing:
