Nice photos, David. I'd agree it's likely Perenni. Interesting that the lower portion aborted but the upper has persisted. Given it's out of reach of vandals, that could develop into a nice chunky tier of brackets!

Looks like some vandal went back and abused it

 

 

Pretty confident that it stands up as P. fraxinea, though someone's asked for a sample to confirm under scopes.

Interesting to watch both the slow movement up the trunk of the fruiting of these Pholiota aurivella but also the change in the month they developed.

Saw some over-mature dryad saddle and plenty of sulphur tuft so things are out. Awaiting the chicken onslaught, personally.

Have seen reports of Laetiporus popping up across the uk, but not here yet.

Hi David thank you , yes same tree this year haven’t seen it fruiting for 3 years at height but it did fruit in the hollow in trunk a couple years ago , I would say in last ten years of watching it is ushally consistent for some kind of fruiting each year , thought I would make the most of it this year
