yup, stump grinder or digger is the best option.

There are loads of different stump killing or rotting chemicals on the market. Some work - some don't, but they all take time, money and effort and you still have a stump for probably years to come! Much easier to just remove the stump and the entire problem is gone!:thumbup:

Me and MrStumpy are clearly biased towards this method, but it is undoubtedly the best method. If it is a relatively small stump, you could pull it out with a high-lift jack. Have a look on Youtube and you'll see various methods. You will cause much ground disturbance though much the same as digging one out. Where are you based George?
