Hi. I'm doing up a wreck of a 200t. Got to stripped down. Going to renew all seals and piston cylinder.. but the paint is shocking peeling and looking crappie. . How many of you have repainted a saw... and any tips? Thanks again

Not really worth painting it TBH, it is a work tool and doesn't really matter. Unfortunately bio oil tends to kill paint and the older MS200s tend to be worse on paint quality than the later ones.

Just leave it as many paints just bubble when in contact with fuel.

Damn I just seen this post spud.. I been out most of everything getting the tatty paint off. Oh well kinda committed now. Understand they are tools. But with full rebuild. Seals the works new paint should help resale.

Bit late now, cause I guess it's already rebuilt but I have read a few threads from America on rebuilds where the crankcase has been split, shot blasted and powder coated. Saws looked amazing. Tho won't make them run any better

Yup.. it's gone pretty well. Until I got carb cleaner on a spot.. I've now got a two pack fuel resistant lacquer coming.. yup it's a dick of a project. Powder coat the next one I reckon.... I'll get some pics up in the week.
