Docma VF80 winch or PWC5000 winch, any users?

I can get either for around the same price, £1250ish inc VAT but the VF-80 comes supplied with 100m of rope, the PCW5000 comes without rope which needs to be factored in, that said I already have 50m of 12mm Sirius which will work.

It appears to be much easier to get spares for the PCW5000, almost every part is available as far as I can see for the actual winch and the engine is a Honda which speaks for itself.

Hello R Mac. I found your thread last week and have just been allowed to converse with you...I've been looking at the same two options...plus the more expensive eder powerwinch (seen on treadlight website).

Just wondered if you've gone ahead with a purchase, and if so what's the verdict?

Would appreciate your thoughts if you have a moment.

Cheers

Personally I didn't consider the Eder winch, I didn't consider it portable in any meaningful way.

In the end in spite of the Docma Bolt looking better on paper in every way (lighter, faster, pulls more if you double line it and still marginally faster than the PCW5000) I went for the PCW5000. Used it 4 days already and have no regrets. It does need to be kept reasonably level but that hasn't been a problem, easy to start, easy on fuel, does exactly what I need.
