16mm rope on a stein LD750

Recommended Posts

Hi folks. First post on here and a quick question if i may

I'v just bought a stein invert a wrap (750kg) it says 13mm max rope dia, which is fine for the size of the device and everything. but i am wondering why they set it at 13mm?

Is it simply to match the rope strength to the device strength better or is it to do with the dia of the 'drum'?

the reason i ask is my longest lowering rope is in 16mm so what would be the effect if i used that on the smaller inverta wrap, if the load was still within the 750kg limit?

Cheers all........uncle chop chop :001_smile:

The upshot would be. If anything goes wrong, it's all on you. The people at fletcher Stuart would ( quite rightly ) be able to say you weren't using it in the prescribed manner and any misfortune was therefore your issue.

Bear in mind that the pukka kit is cheap as chips and waaaaay easier to handle

Cheers chaps, two votes for bend radius will do for me. I just thought maybe it was to stop folks getting carried away with the smaller device and bringing bigger stuff down with it

Treequip, of course you are right mate

I have an rc2000 but but bought the smaller one for smaller jobs. I'v got a lot of difficult access trimming to do up a big steep bank and anything less to cart up and down is a bonus lol
