fresh softwood to dry woodchip equasion

how many tons of fresh softwood would it take to produce 4 tons of dry wood chip at 20-25% moisture content.:confused1:

probably a Mr Ed question:001_cool:

 

i rekon the ratio is 3-1 but am intrested to know otherwise

 

also what is the current price of G30 chip per ton

the fresh woodchip would be approx 50%mc, therefore to get 4 tonnes of oven dry woodchip would require 8 tonnes of wet chip and therefore you would need approx 6 tonnes of fresh woodchip to get 4 tonnes of chip at 25%mc. dont know about price but have heard of it being up to £58/tonne.
