261 running problems

Didn't think it would happen to me as mines be spot on always started an ran faultless until now a couple of days back it became awkward to start and when it starts it's okay but when you shut the engine off and then try to restart nothing unless you let engine cool done all the basics new plug even new hd2 filter cleaned tank and cleaned carb on ultrasonic any ideas is it 560 upgrade time

Am I right in thinking there bringing a new 261 out? Similiar to what they did with the 201?

 

 

It's already out? Haven't seen one but they're in this years catalog. Think they dropped some weight and upped the power a little

Had exactly the same on a lawnmower. Cleaned carb, changed plug and filter but still the same. Replaced the ignition coil and it now starts and runs as new. Think the insulation was breaking down with the heat.
