I need some advice on the health of my Hackberry tree.

My neighbor said he had an arborist over and the arborist spotted my tree and said it needed some immediate maintenance to keep it healthy. I haven't been able to track that same person down so I wanted to get some input before I hired someone to save my tree.

I think the main issue is that the tree is covered with vines from top to bottom.

I've put a few links to my tree photos below:

Any help would be much appreciated.

This forum is UK based so your tree is uncommon to the point of rare here.

The vines look like common or garden IVY (Hedera helix), its competing for resources such as light, water and trace elements, removing it would be recommended.

I would cut the ivy and try and remove all of it from the tree. You will get a better idea of shape and health when it's gone. Good luck
