On our ranger and mazda's, the vacuum pipe failure caused this sort of problem. The hubs are engaged/ disengaged by a system of mechanics, electrics and vacuum pipes.

The vacuum switches are next to the brake master cylinder, probably one blue and one white on top. Check that the vacuum pipes are attached and intact here and then the rest of their lengths. You may need to check the wiring too. Good luck.

It was. It's a 02 rodeo and with them it's awesome. No more coming out of 4wd when you reverse.

02 Rodeo are ya sure? maybe it's an import as the UK rodeos started on an 04 plate i believe. Could be the old skool 'TFS' model which is basically a Vauxhall Brava. Mine's a W reg 3.1TD, runs on manual hubs too which are brilliant.

Yep it's the brava/tfs and it's a good truck. 3.1td

Yep had mine about 8 years now and i love it. No tech engine with no ECU's to go wrong. Pulls well too, just a pity it can only carry bout 800kg in the back. Tink they can lug 2,700KG legally though.
