Hi I know what you mean I have just milled cedar to make 5 very similar benches for a school not quire

As big but they take alot of timber and time to sand and put together , but you are lucky enough to hav3 a 2ft planer , I would love one but at 3grand ish just haventgot the money , nice benches that will last ages

look forward to seeing them mark, even after planning , I still sand to get a good finnish, I dont usually use a big wide planks(usually two) for the tops, then I can plane the whole thing, my planner is a god send, I bought it second hand for £600 a few yrs ago and stripped it and refurbished it, its 10hp and runs on 3phase, my jcb could only just lift it,lol.

I bolt the benches together so if any parts fail due to knots or vandalisum i can unbolt and replace, or repair, that part was a learning curve as before I`d index screw and plug, but a pig to get out again.
