IMO, it would be better to team up with a fire wood guy and get him to make the customer an offer for the timber before you fell the tree.

You do your job, customer pays you.

Timber man comes pays customer and takes away timber.

never never never would i offer the customer money for his timber after an arborist has gone in.

1, he should've paid you a fair price to do the full work.

2, he should'nt be so tight

3 its my time and labour to move the dam stuff

4, it just encourages doing the work for the wood...(free)

i get loads of calls off arb customers asking would i be intrested in buying the wood, their cocky little voices soon go when i say i'll remove it for £25 per hour plus travelling time.

i do pick up off site for arb guys though, it saves them a trip and its extra pir of hands for both of us:thumbup1:

I recently told a caller that I would remove the arb waste if it made the arborist job easier and they did not want the wood but would not pay anything for the wood. The caller told his arborist I offered money. Luckily we are a friendly bunch but that could cause alot of bad feeling.
