Thanks FriarsGorse I appreciate your comments on both carvings, with the duck and the orange paint, I'm unsure if it would have the same character with out it, I will make another and see.

I think you've caught the essence of the face/head, in particular, it's so lifelike in its expression. Have you ever tried any decoys?

 

Thanks Gary, I looked at a couple of decoys before carving, they were in the swimming position though, this customer wanted the walking pose though :lol:

Sorry, I should have elaborated. I think you'd make some good decoys and was asking if you already had. :thumbup1:
