Iveco 75e17 problem

Got an issue with my 7.5t that I'm not sure about.

Engine makes a siren noise that goes up and down in pitch in line with the accelerator going up and down.

Thought it was turbo so took it off, and found the turbo to exhaust manifold gasket was broken in half. Also some tell tale soot marks on exhaust manifold to head gasket.

Replaced all the gaskets, showed the turbo to iveco mechanic as there was a bit of play in the impeller but he reckoned it was OK.

Road tested just now and siren noise is still there😡

The day before the noise started I had a senior moment and left the lorry ticking over ALL day!😳😳

Lorry seems to drive ok. Amy thoughts in this one?

Cheers....Al.

Bearings in Turbo knackered end off, fins on Turbo touching casing , I had same problem and thought I had a fire engine behind me ,.......seized solid next day , the bearings are bush type bearing too .Also check oil supply pipe to Turbo has mine was fractured hence Turbo failure.

Not worth the gamble for the price they are asking for second hand , if its your bread and butter truck fix it right first time .

Recon normally takes around a week when I enquired last .

Also double check no holes in intercooler pipes too .

If it seizes the oil will blow into exhaust and you will look like Thomas the Tank engine stoking up !! Seriously don't drive it and get it fixed asap or else you you empty oil out of sump via exhaust onto street .......been there.
