Thor Magik 13 ton electric

Started the splitter up as per usual this morning.Left it a short while,started to use it splitting some 20" long odd lengths .When I realised oil was oozing out of the breather. Just wondered if anybody has experienced this.

I hope your keeping well

I'm not too familiar with the Thor log splitters; however we do get similar reports this time of year on our own.

(Assuming its a petrol or electric machine) It could just be a bit of moisture/condensation inside the tank which is escaping as the machine heats up. This is likely to be the cause if the machines running fine otherwise. If air was getting into the hydraulic system then your splitter would struggle and it would probably leak from another area

Thank you Calum we had not used the splitter for a while so maybe you are right, I hope so.
