One-sided dieback on Lawson cypress

Are they all dying back on the same side? Eg west or east side. Could be a light issue (unlikely I know). Otherwise it may be a tad far fetched but if it's a cemetery could the old body's have an impact, I know they don't allow scattering ashes on certain sites anymore because the ash was changing the soil and effecting plants. That was on a couple of sites that had a lot of ashes scattered obviously.

Just a thought.

Hi,

I’ve seen something similar twice before.

1. Someone stored deicing salt around one side of the tree killing one side only.

2. Tight union of the dual stems (which this tree also appears to have), one stem just gave up as the conducting vessels stopped working.

Did the FC take a sample in this tight union area and culture it for any organisms etc.?

Your also in a cemetery, has someone dug that side severing roots?
