I think I will pass it on the the customer and see what he thinks.

 

I had a good look but couldnt see any hairline cracks but it does wobble about a fair bit.

I have just had a crankshaft bearing go ( one on oil pump side ) had just replaced piston a couple of weeks earlier , is the bearings failing a common fault , FR Jones says not.

These modern auto tune engines run a lean mix so bearing failure and seizure are never far away.

 

Run a richer mix and synthetic oil and hopefully it will help!

Here is a 560 in today with a very loose crank stuffer , note the standard issue blown base gasket !

Yes its one of the worst i have had in , saws used for brashing seem to be the worst for the stuffers going , running high revs with low load all day . this one went running flat out .
