Lets just say it is 116cc and Matt has more money than sense:lol:

I've wanted one for about 20 years though Steve , last one that was in the family was retired to the parts bin so I took the dogs off to make ninja knuckle dusters like you do when your about 12 ...if only I had access to those tea chests of saws now !! a variety of old stihls , huskys and dolmars I do believe the whole lot was scrapped the last bit of the 166 remaining was the starter pull that I had on my favourite 200 t... I really liked the grips on it !

I must say that it is probably a good thing those saws were lost as I know where they would have ended up.......giving me big headaches:001_rolleyes::lol:

The cylinder is OK, that is the main thing, try the gap first and disconnect the kill wire when you try it, you may get very lucky.

If that doesn't work then it is going to be seeing if another coil may fit and allign OK, and that is the easy bit. You then have to ensure that the ignition timing is correct and that either means moving the coil or the flywheel!

As I said, I have an old Dolmar stone cutter, no idea if the coil is OK or not but it may work.....possibly!

We are fortunate that the saw is old and has a fixed ignition timing as some modern coils shift the point of spark (ignition timing) to well out of kilter with where the magnet meets the coil and makes life a bitch!
