Husqvarna 51

Hello, I am still using my departed dad's Husky 51, and have been for some years now .

It is the 1990-91 version, so not so much info available, I have ome good oem diagrams for parts etc.

Recently less oil seems to spray against the wall as I check it. There's nothing wrong with the gearing, I have flushed the tank, and cleaned where I think is necessary and had the oiler out for inspection.

Can anyone tell me if this model uses a suction hose part 503101601 or is this for the later 51 1991 onwards? My diagrams show the different clutch assemblies for the 51's side by side including one suction hose and it is a bit confusing, or I am confused by it.

I have some experience with this saw and am loathe to give up on a perfectly good piece of equipment that has provided warmth for years. Husqvarna themselves don't have tech' advice in my neck of the woods.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has any suggestions.

I don't know if I am allowed this link to the diagram but here goes.

The 50/51/55 all used that pick up pipe, the pump was non adjustable ( they never did an adjustable one ) the pump capacity is goverened by rotational speed and also the throw, you can increase the flow by increasing the length of the flat on the pump shaft by 1/16
