Just wanted to say thanks to spud and adw, I bought a can of carb cleaner and took the carb apart again and gave it a good "squirting" once back together it now runs and idles like a good un.

I will now work on the right hand side of the saw cleaning and degunking it , but I envisage no problems.

its a good sense of achievement getting something running again.

Glad it all worked out. Sometimes the petrol evaporates and leaves a thick oil residue especially if an overly rich mix has been used and this can gunk a carb up.

All good, hope it gives a bit of service now:thumbup:
