Stihl MS028 AVS 'Wood Boss'

Friend of mine has just given me an old 028, unfortunately the muffler/exhaust is missing. He told me that it is very difficult to find these parts now, but I thought I'd ask around a bit to see if its possible, at all to find one.

 

I also wondered if there are any other saws that have a similar fitting that could be modded to fit.

Within reason anything can be fabricated.

 

However if there's an on the shelf part it might be a lot less hassle.

 

I'm sure spud is the best person to answer this, as he's The Saw Whisperer by all accounts.

I had one of these saws kicking around until I put it on Ebay and that is where you may get one from if you wait. You may be able to modify an 026 muffler but having never tried it, I can't say if it is possible.

I've got a muffler for an 026c says Kat on it and it's been gutted out, u can have it and try it if u like
