Hey all,

Hopefully someone will be able to help me out with some up to date info. Looking at getting myself and team qualified up to put road works signs out when working close/in the road. Just wondering what qualifications we need now as i think it has all changed with the NRSWA training being implemented, i dont think its any thing to do with chapter 8 now. I dont think we need to do the full courses like the road contactors do as we (tree works) can be classed as temporary mobile work? Also if i need to have traffic lights and such i will just get a local traffic firm in to do all that.

Just thinking what I need now for when working next to the road and we want to put a few road signs our or use our stop/go boards or close off footpaths etc.

Looking for course in Lincolnshire too if anyone has just done any.

Cheers for the help.

There's a document on aa website under help for arborists worth brief guide to the updates as for training in your area speak to the local approved contractors there. They'll surely put you in touch with right training provider. But sure someone in here additionally may help you out but for update to nrswa see AA website. I know there's rules for supervisors and site operators where the supervisor with unit ten isn't legally allowed to touch a cone, only design the road works specific to site etc

Basically you need the operative 'Unit 2' training / qualification, see

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/4387/regulations.pdf and maybe https://nrswa-courses.co.uk/courses/nrswa-unit2/ (this training provider (TP) explain it quite well but there are 'other' TPs.)

Cheers..

Paul
