Hi Guys I thought I would start a thread showing some of the work I do with my Menzi Muck excavator in forestry and Arb work.

As a some of you use excavator mounted tree shears I thought I would show you some of my shearing when I first bought the Menzi I bought a Tiger shear 400 from Exc@v8 in Kendal a fantastic shear and it has been worth its weight in Gold dropping Larch

How ever good as the Tigershear is for My current Project I have a Hans Habbig on the end of the stick and I cant Praise it enough it has 70 degrees of tilt each way but its real bonus is the two sets of gripper arms that Hold Limbs Or whole trees so tight there is no way this girl is dropping anything this makes it perfect for Road side or Rail embankments where there is no marginfor mistakes coupled to the Menzi I would say it is the Safest and highest output Treeshear setup available for Hire in the UK

Awesome looking piece of kit, both machine and head. Much beefier looking up close, plenty of steel in the under carridge. What weight is that menzi model and shear head combined.

Thanks Pete Yes there is a fair chunk of Money tied up there but I hope it will work out ok :scared1:

Rowan with the Shear she will weigh in around eleven and a half ton so not excessive, stability really comes from its stance and where the weight is positioned very stable and planted in use

The eagle eyed may have just spotted my Kubota in one of the images from Sean, as he's just completed a project for me.

I just wanted to say I've used Sean a couple of times now for Specialist applications, and the simple fact is when you need a Menzi nothing else comes close.

They really aren't for every application but for those who are prepared to try different solutions it really can pay significant dividends.

The Shear combo he currently has is extremely safe in holding material, but the bonus of having the Menzi to power and handle it is significant.

You'd be looking at Tracked excavators in the 20 to 30 tonne class to replicate it, and it wouldn't go half the places a Menzi would.

The Tracked machine would have a Menzi beat on a wet site, but that's about it? Tricks the Menzi has like folding in incredibly narrow for access or simply lifting up for more reach really have to be witnessed to appreciate fully.

If it adds any weight at all to anyone considering giving Sean a call to see what solutions are on offer. He comes highly recommended from me, as a very Safe and Professional Operator and just fits straight in as one of the team.

Thanks for your kind words Eddie I always feel it's important to fit in with the team you are working with as if you understand what every one it the team is working towards it makes for a safer and more productive site.

As you mentioned the Menzi has the hydraulic capacity similar to a 35ton excavator and when you push the wheels out to 6 meters plus wide stability is awesome.

Bottom line is that unless its a very wet site that you can't mark this outfit is one of the safest and most productive out there we can also come up with solutions for the wet sites

I have had a few calls and texts pointing out that trees don't all grow straight up and down so I think this shows I have the flexibility to get round most things and Its quite easy to limb or dismantle as well as simple shearing
