Fire damaged Trees

What is the conventional thinking on the integrity of fire damaged trees.

Large trees...bark gone on one side...plenty of leaf but much deadwood too.

Client questioning whether next door neighbour (who caused damage) is liable for removal costs

Thanks

it could be classed as criminal damage, was the police called? or he might say it was an accident, difficult to say whos responsible, tell your cliant to ASK if might contribute to the removal cost as a jesture of good will, but if was you i would not get to involved let them fight it out, as for the tree surving, well time will tell. or surgest to your cliant to get a tree survay undertaken next year.

There are two trees, both doubles. One is an Ash and the other is a Sycamore. The sycamore has one side snapped out and hung up at the half way point across adjacent trees. Hence reason for call to me. His first question was "Was the break due to weakening" His second concern is the integrity of what's left and if he is liable should his tree fail and damage third party
