I considered getting my ford ranger re mapped!! What's the pros and cons?

 

 

Depends how you have it remapped can have it mapped for performance, economy or in the middle, if you push it too far on a performance map it will reduce the lifespan of the engine but if it's done well it won't effect the lifespan, if you get it done get a bespoke remap don't buy a chip as they aren't tailored for the individual vehicle

Yeah I wouldn't want to affect anything like the lifespan, as it gets worked very hard! And want it to last me

Find a local tuning specialist as they will design a custom map for the vehicle

Looks awesome. Do you think you'll have any issues with the bull bars (from an MOT/'safety' perspective? I am not sure of the legality but I bet its a can of worms....

The outcome for a child hit by those would be terrible.

Bullbar is ok if fitted in conjunction with a winch - it's then a winch protection bar!

As Minotaur said it's then classed as a recovery bar do no issues, went through mot a week after fitting no issues

Good to know. After some 'run ins' off road I was considering fitting some tree sliders and a bullbar/winch combo to my L200.

Go for ARB kit they produce the best stuff bit more expensive but well worth it plus they do a side rail and bull bar that integrate to protect the entire front end of the truck
