If it's a TPO or CA app why bother paying for or even using a scale plan?

A sketch plan is perfectly acceptable.

I think I'm right in saying that's all it asks for on the form.

Or am I missing something here?

When you use the planning portal it asks there to be a scale I think. The examples I posted are all free screen shots, edited in paint and take less time to do than draw a sketch plan.

I just fill in a printed off copy of the form and draw a sketch on a bit of graph paper, guess I'm old fashioned. My office manager submits them, don't know if she uses the planning portal. But I take your point about the sketch taking longer and your way looks far more professional.

Which websites do you 'borrow' the screen shots from?

Depends the photo was from bing, the other two were the councils own mapping sites.

Hi all, thanks for the reply's. They will not take screen shots or anything taken from an os map due to copyright. They will only accept a site plan at 1: 1250 and a block plan at 1:500. I sent first a copy of the land registry of my place they turned it down then a 1:5000 scale forestry commission map of my place and this was also turned down. Spoke today with a planner telling them i was trying to save some money, he said you can buy them from us so did and they were cheaper than anywhere else £34 for 2 copies of each.
