Sorry if this is a repeat thread. I want to take my 200T on an easy jet flight. Does anyone have experience of doing this? Its thoroughly cleaned and drained. is it allowed and do you have to inform them first?

Cheers

Hi there, yes I took a few chainsaws last year on an easyjet flight to France. What I did was emailed easyjet before hand and got in writing that it was ok to take chainsaws and what preparations were needed. I printed this out and took to airpot just incase there were any problems. Best double check the latest requirements but last year we just had to ensure all fuel tanks were bone dry. We took bars and chains off and wrapped up the dogs on the saws. We had no problems with security and everything went smoothly. Hope tthat helps

I enquired, about 18 months ago, about taking saws to Ireland. Neither Aer Lingus or Leary-air would allow them if they had been used. If they were in sealed manufacturer's boxes then one would be ok.

So it is interesting that others have managed to travel with them.

The problem with the budget airlines is that you are dealing with agency muppets...............there is never a guarnatee that the muppet at check-in will allow it, depite having got the ok before hand.
