X-Rigging Ring - Knot or Splice?

No mate, they all have the SWL limits the beast rings are what I use for blocking down. :)

 

Yeah, and I guess the configuration means they can't be self tightening (only for use with a crotch to hold in place)? For chogging could I use an x-ring with an open end and use a timber hitch to set it rather than using a whoopie or splice sling?

 

Im guessing that is what is shown in your second picture with the yellow slings?

Yes mate most of my ring slings are on deadeyes, this not also allows me to use hitches to attach on stems ect but it allows me to move them about if I need to direct the line somewhere else.
