X-Rigging Ring - Knot or Splice?

Good evening!

I'm just looking into getting some rigging gear and the x-rigging rings seem to be a pretty good option instead of a block or pulley for smaller stuff. Im just wondering if they can be attached to a length of rope with a knot or do they have to be spliced? couldn't find much info on it here so any pictures or opinions would be much appreciated!

Cheers, Josh

To appreciate what they are capable of then defiantly splice mate, I wouldn't recommend knots!! Just out of curiosity why would you only rig small stuff on them? ImageUploadedByArbtalk1429731124.158370.jpg.30894bfe75fee4e165aa0386bcdcdccf.jpg

Thanks for the reply, looks like I will be getting one spliced then! Is that difficult to learn? Will have to do some research! Only smaller stuff because I'm relatively new to it and want to start small, I'm sure I will end up going bigger eventually!

No worries mate, if your thinking of buying them then I suggest a couple or at least the triple sling, using just one ring at the main anchor point isn't really good due to the bend radios, you can cancel the radios out if you have a couple of single rings buy spreading them about to create better angles for the rope :)

Okay I will look into that then, what rope do you suggest to splice with? And is it just tied with a timber hitch? Thanks again!

Did have a look at that but I thought that would be less flexible as you couldn't use it when chogging down could you?

check out bixlers latest vid called XRR4life on the youtube channel bixvid for a great example of blocking down large pieces on the double beast x-ring set up.

Oh yeah, that's not with the thimbles in the picture you posted first though is it? You couldn't do it with them?
