Yeah that would grind my gears as well. They should at least offer you a loaner.

Haha! I asked if they would cover the cost to hire something to get a job done, I'm sure you know what they said! Bit of a pisstake for £450 to get 45mins work from a tool I have owned from the start of Feb.

Hey ho, what can you do? I will not be getting my big saw for milling from them thats for sure!

As above: think it depends on your dealer. I use one dealer for all small equipment. If something breaks or gives a problem he will fix it while waiting or give us a loaner.

At least they didn't say you'd straight gassed it :D If something electrical like that happened I would not want the saw back I would be straight on to their headquarters or citizens advice.

My new stihl saw went back to stihl via my dealer,it was 2 weeks old and stihl had it for 5 weeks,no loan saw available.

My new husky went back to dealer twice in 2 months and still same problem of fading in the cut, dealer sorry but "we havnt got any wood to try it in"

Now sold, goodbye stihl, goodbye husky, hello Dolmar - so far so good.

After some more stern words on the phone I now have a shiny new saw in the post. Apparently Stihl have not even collected the broken saw from the dealer for inspection yet!!

Only took 3 months! Wooohoo! I can get some work started now!

Think I will have to be a little more discerning about which dealer I get my next saw from. Poor show Stihl!

Cheers guys!
